Critiques
The dice look as if they had been created out of papier-mache, painted with deep solid colors, and glazed over. They appear as if they had been set up on a mirror-like surface littered with pieces of grass and leaves. Such set-up seems to allow the dice to appear as if they were rolling toward the viewer. The placement of the dice on the surface definitely makes for a very dynamic view. And very interesting, as well.
Only a few dice appear quite sharp in this shot. I find excessive blurriness of the dice in the background (i.e., the top half of the photo) to be a bit distracting. One of the dice in the foreground (with the three white dots) is a little blurred. Keeping the dice in the foreground in sharp focus while leaving the rest slightly blurred in the background would make for an attention-capturing shot.
I notice that certain colors have been grouped. The red ones are bunched up in the front. There are two pairs of dice in purple and orange colors in the background. Such grouping seems a little bit too 'organized'. Mixing up the colors for the foreground and the background would make for an exciting view. Kind of like shuffling cards really well so that no cards appear as if they had been grouped together.
The appearance of the dice is definitely quite original. Sure beats the black-and-white dice that usually roll on the surface of a gambling table that is made out of green felt!
